This privacy notice applies to the Betty Messenger Charitable Foundation (BMCF) a registered charity No. 1149282 and Messenger Estates Ltd (MEL) a registered charity No. 160727. The BMCFand MELrespects the privacy of every individual whose personal information it handles. This Privacy notice explains how BMCF and MEL collects, stores and uses personal information.

When you contact us, apply for a grant or interact with us in any other way, BMCF and MEL may sometimes receive personal information about you, such as your:

We use your information in a number of ways, such as:

§  contacts administration and communication about our activities and governance

§  processing a grant application

§  responding to correspondence you have sent to us

§  sending information about BMCF and MEL, our supporters and beneficiaries.

 

5. Suppliers, trustees, directors and professional advisors

If you are a supplier to BMCF and MEL, a trustee, director or one of its professional advisors, we will store limited amounts of personal information relating to you, including your name, job title, qualifications, employer organisation and contact details. We will store this personal information for the purposes of:

 

§  administering and maintaining records of BMCF and MEL, services or advice we have received, and commissioning further services

§  The personal information we hold about suppliers, trustees and professional advisors will be shared with:

 

  • companies who process personal information on BMCF’s and MEL’s behalf, such as providers of cloud hosting solutions;

  • professional advisors, such as accountants, lawyers or other consultants; and

  • other companies in the Betty Messenger group.

  • In accordance with the Data Protection Laws, our legal basis for storing personal information that you provide to us is that such storage is necessary for our legitimate interests in running and promoting our business.

Retention

We will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary and consistent with the law.

There is certain information that we are required by law to keep for set periods of time, for example, relating to staff records.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us, in writing, for a copy of all the personal data held about you (a subject access request). A copy will be sent to you as soon as possible but this will be not later than 30 calendar days after we have received your request. You also have the right to request that your personal data is deleted. If you would like to access your personal data held by us, or request your data is deleted, please apply in writing to the BMCF and MEL address below.
